Ntsako Nkuna (b. 2001, Johannesburg, RSA) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the convergence of digital and physical realms. Working across installation, printmaking, sculpture, and digital media, Nkuna examines how architecture, materiality, and virtual space inform one another, questioning the shifting boundaries of inhabitation and design.
Her work combines screen-printed 3D renders with metal fixtures that evoke domestic structures, transcending conventional architectural representation. Drawing on Elizabeth Grosz’s Architecture from the Outside: Essays on Virtual and Real Space, Nkuna approaches buildings as mutable entities—continuously evolving through the interactions and occupants they accommodate.
Rooted in a critical engagement with suburban landscapes, Nkuna investigates how form and materiality embody social values and shape collective narratives of place. Her background in video gaming and virtual environments further informs her reflection on spatial experience, world-building, and the porous intersections between digital and lived realities.
Recent exhibitions include her solo presentation STOPNONSENSE at Kalashnikovv Gallery, Johannesburg. Nkuna has participated in major art fairs including the Investec Cape Town Art Fair (2025), FNB Art Joburg (2024, 2025), and RMB Latitudes Art Fair (2024).
Through her interdisciplinary approach, Nkuna reimagines architecture as a living interface where technology, memory, and material form converge to propose new modes of inhabiting both virtual and physical worlds.
